Are you confused regarding the new required MLO Education in New York ? You are not alone ! But we may have some answers and some good news for you. RETC Training has recently formed an affiliation with the Mortgage Training Institute ( MTI Services Corp. ), an approved NMLS Education Provider, to bring New York Mortgage Professionals quality education that will comply with the new Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and the SAFE ACT. Do not be fooled by unknown education providers or high pressured tactics by any organization or association that claims to have the NMLS education certification available for New York State . . . because they DO NOT !

As of September 16, 2009 the NYS Banking Department has not issued the final education requirements for compliance of the SAFE ACT. Mortgage Training Institute is currently an Approved NMLS Education Provider ( #1400044 ) and has been approved for 20 Hour SAFE Comprehensive ID 1055. Though the course is not yet scheduled or being offered in New York, it will be as soon as the NYS Banking Department releases their final education licensing requirements.

Be careful before commiting or spending any money for education that does not 100% satisfy the SAFE ACT requirements, as you may be required to repeat education courses unnecessarily.
